Waited 6 months to get the TRD Pro MT since putting name on list back in August. Didn't think it would happen as dealer seemed in the dark as much as me.

Accessories include running boards, roof rack, bed extender and bed mat. Plan to get the bakflip MX4 next month. Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with the back flip product? Had a close look at the Toyota factory tonneau cover and it doesn't sit tight. Back end actually had a gap to the bed rail when latched.

I would make sure it's closed all the way. Stupid I know, but I have the Toyota factory tonneau cover on my 2017 Sport and you can't be gentle to get it flush with the bed rails

Nice lookin pro BTW, I wish I could've gotten cement for the Sport, but then it wouldn't be as special lol

So is there a time where you just give up? Or did the dealer continue to tell you it would come eventually, even if they didn't know anything? Did you know it would take 6 months?

    BTW Cement MT is awesome.

Congrats man! I got one back in Feb! Love it. Is the bed extender worth getting? I forgot to add that to my build :/ I actually have the factory Tonneau cover on mine and it held up pretty dang well in the pouring rain.

I did a lot of research prior to getting my bed cover and I ended up going with the undercover flex from auto anything.com. It was a good price with 20% off and was a quick install. I haven't had any issues at all with it leaking I would suggest going with the undercover over the backflip.

I have a bakflip on my 15 dcsb & I love it. It sits flush in side the rails & no leaks.

    Thanks for the feedback.

When I put the deposit down on the Pro (in August ), dealer said I was 3rd in line. I originally wanted white. Over the 6 months, the two ahead of me got impatient and dropped out. Dealer phoned me in February saying we have one coming but it is cement coloured. It's the only one they were getting. I didn't hesitate a second a said 'bring it on!' Couldn't be happier. It is a nice colour in person. Up to that point I had only seen pictures.

Dealer took back the tri-fold and refunded the money. They thought it didn't look right also, so they sent it back to Toyota claiming it was defective. The dealer was very responsive to my concerns.

I haven't used the bed extender yet, but it looks like it will come in handy when needed. Even folded in, it will hold gear and prevent from sliding around in box. I took it out for now until I install the tri-fold.

Hoping someone can answer following question. When I picked up my truck, Salesman indicated first oil change would be due at 16,000km and that I shouldn't change the oil before then. He mentioned something about the factory adding certain additives with the initial oil fill and changes too early would purge those additives. I don't recall the purpose and was hoping someone could shed some light on the subject.

    Thanks...

I think the salesman is totally off base. I was told 8,000 kilometers when I got mine. I only have 6443 kms since July 2016 however I am doing it soon as I have a 3500 kilometer trip in April that will add some mileage to the Tacoma. As for the additives, I think that is complete BS. It is Toyota oil supplied by whoever gave them the cheapest deal. I would change at 8,000 kms and stick to either Castrol, Quaker State or Mobil and stay with the 0-20 grade.
