Cool. I'm on the same All Pro Expo leafs now. Still have the original 650lb springs in the front - I sold the 700lb ones I had bought. The 650lb ones are enough.

Your truck looks nice - I like those tool chests on the side!

I'm slowly getting there just need more funds for the project! ...Bet we all know that struggle too well :p Currently just sitting on a TRD Pro Grille and some ditch mount brackets/pod lights :( But in the works are:

    Toytech Boss 2.5" lift kit
CBI T3 Front and Rear bumpers with center hoop and rear swing out/jerry can carrier
CBI or Big Country Customs slider set
    Set of 33's
Smittybilt or Viair compressor mounted under the hood
Second battery box built for the bed if I can't find somewhere under the hood
Canopy w/ Front slider and driver side windoor (Arrow Mrk1 or Snugtop Rebel)
Building a exo-skeleton for the canopy to mount a RTT on top and gear on the side without the windoor
    #Lights before lockers
Rear locker somewhere down the road if I don't SAS it.
Ram Mounts for my laptop and tablet for mapping
Undecided on my winch and sliders still, gonna be a fairly mild build....compared to yours that is;)
And don't even get me started on the sleepness nights trying to find a build with some of the things that have come to me :p

Just ordered a James Baroud Explorer tent. RIP bank account.

Asked to intentionally delay shipment until I'm setup with a rack to actually mount the tent to. Fingers crossed I'll be ready sooner than later.

Got it in white, standard size. Should fit with a mere one or two inches of overhang over the tailgate, and no overhang over the bed sides. Excited!

I believe I was the first 3rd gen they did the skids for. First Offroad sliders they did for 3rd gen too.

I think this is my favorite build thread on TW, mostly because your an hour's ferry ride from me. I have learned a lot from you 0210! And will most definitely borrow some of your retailers.

Oh my, that is an awesome RTT, I thought you would go with Tepui or something. Here I thought I had issues with my wallet dumping huge amounts of money on truck modifications. You sir take the cake ;).

Looking forward to seeing the evolution!!

Soft-shell tents unfortunately don't meet my requirements of near-instant setup time. I strongly considered the James Baroud Horizon Vision (soft shell) RTT, but in the end settled on the Explorer.

Hoping to be able to order a tonneau within a few days (still not entirely decided on a specific model), and then begin the planning/work for the bed rack.

Found a few photos of a couple other Tacomas that have done what I've got envisioned. Photos in this thread, but here's one, too:

That particular JB tent happens to be mounted on a FrontRunner rack... which I coincidentally have for sale with the intent of having a custom bed rack made. I also planned on having my two 42" plano containers mounted on the sides of the bed rack, but am now thinking that will really restrict access to the bed (from the sides).

So the current idea: custom feet/supports made to mount my front runner rack over the tonneau + current front runner rack (get to reuse accessories like awnings, lights, hi-lift/shovel mounts, etc. Since there will be about (guesstimating) 10" of vertical room between the top of the tonneau and the bottom of the FrontRunner rack, I can mount a set of pre-made, enclosed, low-profile drawers to the underside of the rack. Something like this Jobox model. Several custom "wrapping" crossbars could be made to securely hold that drawer system in place. Add a bit of weatherstripping and I could then pack these with tools and recovery gear. Being only 24" wide (there are wider versions, too), this would still allow for plenty of room to reach into the bed from each side. Or mount more items (MaxTrax!) underneath, parallel to the drawers.

    The ideas just don't stop...

Canopy has moved on to a new home.

Actually liking the look of the truck without it! And with an empty bed I'm now getting much better fuel economy :).

Time to decide on a tonneau and start filling the bed up again.

Do you attribute the MPG increase to removing the cap only or to removing the hundreds of pounds of gear from the bed?

Both, really. Cap is heavy, but helps a bit with aerodynamics. The tons of other weight definitely hurt fuel economy more than the cap.

Now, with about 50/50 city/highway, I'm seeing around 18-19mpg with normal driving and ECT mode. Much better than before!
