Hate that people do that, maybe they get in over their heads? But it ruins the limited trust we have on TW, but that's why we use paypal also..

Not that this is any of my business but when people ask me to do that I pay the other way and add 3%. If they don't like that I won't do it.

@stairgod - Jon, was that a Pelican case that you had mounted on your truck?
I want something similar because it's bothering me that I was slightly unorganized on the trail this past weekend.
I'm hoping there is something similar, but less expensive cuz those Pelican Protector boxes are spendy.

Yeah, I don't use friends/family option often. I'll just add the 3% fee to my total and pay thru goods/services, same for when I sell something, give both options.

Check out Plano boxes. Very similar but easier on the wallet. I have no experience with them cuz I went with Pelicans but have heard good things.

I had a plano box mounted in my bed for about a year holding my mountain biking gear, and it held up through all the seasons, and never let anything in.

Edit: I got mine cheap in the bargain cave at Cabelas

And it will hold 2 30' straps a tool box arb tire plug kit 4 shackles 2 bags of wrenches and my tire deflator. Jut have to remove the foam on the bottom but not the top. 2 would fit on the roof of my truck but I have the ski racks for my fishing rods

Everyone keep in mind there is a BIG Huge difference between the cheap plano boxes and the plano boxes like @The Hunter posted a link for.

where as the pelican cases are all stout, and not cheap.

I'm on old man emu and the ride isn't horrible but it takes some getting used to, if I was to do it again I'd definitely get a progressive aal or leaf pack but other than that I'm pretty satisfied with it. You can literally feel how bad the rear ride is compared to the front with a single aal when going over a speed bump or something; front sails over and the then the rear is stiff af, only reason I haven't gotten a progressive yet is cuz I don't wanna lose height so I'll probably just save for dakars

The issue with stock rear springs or even stock with AAL is that the factory overload is left in place. It the the suspension equivalent of a brick wall. The rear is smooth and silky until you hit a medium size bump or bigger, causing the leaf pack to flatten out, which brings the overload into play. The change in spring rate is astronomical, usually ending up with the ass end hopping. Moral of the story...Find a way to lose the overload, maybe adding another leaf in addition to the AAL sets, and the ride can be a bunch better, at a significant savings over a new leaf pack

I've added one 29XL and deleted one overload per side.

I'm gonna add back the overload when I get the chance.

    Thanks for the input guys.

The Plano boxes look pretty stout. Plano has two models which might fit the bill for my needs. The All-Weather and the Mil-Spec.

Both are offered in the 54 inch double rifle model. Both are a LOT less expensive than the Pelicans of similar size. I'll need to do further research.
