Hey guys just bought a 07 TRD and I was wondering what this lens above my rear view mirror is? And the button. I thought it might be a temperature gauge but nothing shows up

Would there be a fuse to check first?

Nope. Common problem. The diode or resistor what ever it is gets hot and becomes unsoldered. Fixed mine three times. Even bought a second temp/compass that I would have on standby. Got tired of fixing and replaced it with the rear view mirror one.

There was a guy on here that used to repair them pretty cheap, not sure if he still does. He did mine 5-6 years ago and still going strong.

Its an easy fix. think its 2 screw, few clips, just solder all the 510s while you have it open and youre good. with this site open and the directions pulled up, took maybe 45 minutes of me being extremely cautious the first time but I didn't solder all the 510s. it went out again 2 days later. Took about 15 minutes to solder all of them the second time. really easy fix

Just fixed mine a couple of days ago, if you take it out and have someone with soldering experience fix it... it's a simple fix. I looked it up on YouTube and I did it myself, it was super simple! It's a little stubborn to get a good solder connection since it's a small resistor and not good to overheat the circuit board. If you take it apart be careful not to lose the resistor! If you were local I'd try to help you out :) i know how expensive those things are

That sucks... it was hard for me to solder it good since it's so small. I made sure to melt solder on both the circuit board and resistor separate And then I solder them together. Did you check if the resistor fell out again or something else went wrong?

There's a guy on eBay that will fix it and beef it up so it won't happen again, and guarantee it for life. Fixed mine 7 or 8 years ago. Quick turn around, about $25.
