Just curious, why did you go for the small frame?

I don't assume you would conceal a gun you have very little experience with.

And as for the tacoma with power thing, I have the 4 banger so it has left a lot to be desired haha!

Saw that on one of my facebook feeds right after I picked up my Aurora lol. It seems Dead air was selling replacement wipes. As far as I know that is a no no.. the opinion letter refers to owner's making their own replacements, after destroying the old ones. Good on Dead Air for not pushing though, last thing we need is a reversal letter. Worse case scenario, I can send it back to Gemtech for replacement wipes.

Haha i'm settling for some turbo action to supplement the yearning for my lost pair...

If you are considering it for carry, the one modification I would recommend is a metal guide rod. It can be stainless, tungsten, aluminum(you mentioned weight being a factor) but get rid of the plastic guide rod. Your follow up shots will be tighter. IF you even decide to keep it.

    ALL HAIL MICULEK!

I have a couple hundred more rounds to put through my 20 before I decide on a trigger upgrade. Might just go for the disconnector though, I don't want my 10mm on a hair trigger haha

If you are close enough to recognize who he is, he's already decided that you get to live lol!

I dont think the trigger as far as feel and break is the flaw, I think the face of the trigger itself is what bothers me most. I don't like the sharpness of it on my finger

Crowntown is right. You want to induce some spring fatigue, most quickly achieved by loading and unloading. Load and unload the mags with 8 rounds before and after work for a week and I'll bet you fit 9 in there pretty quick.

Just put an Evo Elite connector and spring kit and an oversized slide lock in my Glock this evening. As nice as the trigger job is...the oversized slide lock is the shit. Makes taking the slide off so much easier. I've always had problems getting a good grip on the stock one. Also, ordered a S3F threaded barrel this morning. They had some sale for their blemished barrels. Can't say no to that at $109. Just gotta order the micro comp now.

I'll be picking up a gen 4 Glock 20 FDE some time this week. It's primary intended use is as my adventuring/hunting/camping sidearm. Black bears are the largest predator we have in Arizona and I wanted a sidearm capable of protecting my family, and myself from our local alpha. Also, as this will be my only pistol for the foreseeable future ($ issues and shit), I'd like to carry in the city for self defense WITHOUT the danger of over penetration. I'm not interested in opinions about the small likelyhood of bear attacks or the other options that would be far better suited to personal defense from 2 legged critters over a 10mm... I already know all this, and I'm committed to this weapon choice. I'm just looking for some advice on different ammo choices for both uses from Glock 20 owners who have experience with the gun and running different ammo through it.

    My questions:
What's a good ammo for black bear that the g20 seems to "like"?

What's a good ammo for city self defense that won't over penetrate and that the g20 "likes"

    Good cheap target ammo?

Any other tidbits of knowledge anyone feels like passing along?

Thanks in advance and apologies for the long babbling post.

First, let me say how jealous I am of the FDE 20. I found mine private party and I took what I could find!

My experience so far with my 20 is that she'll eat anything you throw in her. I bought 10mm hollow points, ran them through. Ran the crappy range 10mm no problem. Now, I use HSM 200gr for plinking and daily carry. After experience with the gun, it's not a spray and pray type firearm. So, I abandoned the thought of the hollow point because of the sheer force of the round as even a hollow point. Make sure your follow up shots are tight, you have quick target acquisition, and have good recognition of the backdrop.

Thanks for the info. We'll have to have a g20 "show and shoot" one of these days. I'm in Tucson but I'm sure we'll meet up at a run at some point.

Yea, I was really stocked about the fde. I told my guy I wanted fde but if it was going to take too long to get it, I'd take what I could get. He said he could get it in 2-3 days. I said "hell fucking yeah!"

I read on one sight that Glocks don't like hard cast lead rounds. Any experience with this, or do you always shoot fmj and jhp?

I love my g20. I carry it hunting, hiking, and on my moto where aloud here in the wonderful state of ca. My go to holster is the kenai chest holster during these activities.

We will definitely go for a glock shoot and wheel meet haha I wanted to play with some DIY cerakote myself..

Ran a box of cast at the range, but one box is hardly a data point.

I can say though, that I have not had a single malfunction with her. Shoots like a dream every time. I have a stainless steel 24lb spring to replace the stock one. Worlds better !

Have you guys run Underwood solid cast through your 10mm? I was going to order a box but if they don't work I won't bother.

Lmao! First thing I did was order a kenai chest holster! (Coyote harness, kryptek highlander shell, coyote spare mag carrier, closed front so I don't bury the muzzle in dirt while crawling through mines and caves) Then a uncle Mike's itp cuz it's cheap and will work for now. Then an alien gear cloak mod with the mounting bracket, which will be placed someplace in the driver's area of my truck (still have to figure out where).

Which gen is yours? I opted for a gen 4 mostly for the dual recoil springs to help with the recoil.

This is exactly the type of info I was looking for when I posted. Depending on what's at the store when I pick up the gun, I might have some feedback.
