    Hi,

I am really new to lifting a truck yet alone any vehicle so when looking for aftermarket UCAs (particularly total Chaos ones) for a 16 Tacoma that will get a 6" lift, do I need to get the TC Heim joint ones or will the regular ones work fine?

Does anyone have a 6" lifted Taco with the regular TC UCAs or for that matter any aftermarket UCAs?

This is the response from TC directly regarding their regular UCA and Heim Joint UCA-

"The bushing pivot ones will be correcting an alignment situation that your truck doesn’t have (i.e. they are over-correcting the alignment and will actually make it worse on a 6” lifted truck). With the adjustable heim-pivot version you can dial in the alignment for your specific amount of lift."

Not sure if this matters but the lifted truck will not be a off roader, more of a pavement pounder.

I am wondering the same thing as I will be purchasing uniball UCA'S soon and am wondering if the heim joint pivots are necessary or if the poly pivots will be adequate. I have the Zone 4" lift spindles and spacers in the front with stock base coilovers, but when I do the UCA'S, I will install 6" Fox coilovers and removing the spacers giving me the 6" lift. Thanks in advance to anyone who has any input from experience.

Ended up with the BDS 6" lift kit with fox coilovers and Icon UCAs. Love the ride so far.

Thanks for your reply. I may do the same exact thing. There aren't a lot of 6" coilover options. Besides the BDS/Fox the only others I saw were Kings. Is there a difference in strength or performance between the icon UCA and a tubular style? Or is it strictly looks.

Kings or even Icon; I'm not 100% sure if the billet is stronger than than the tubular ones. My understanding it was looks and a 300-400$ difference.

TBH I would've gone billet, for looks alone.
