Had a Bday on Fri and spent the wknd in the woods... found out my m8000's control pack needs some attention after being submerged a couple of months ago the hard way... it didnt work. Anyway...

If you have LR UCA's then you are set. The fox's will still ride like butter because the 600lb eibach springs aren't progressive. Absolutely positive on that.

Also, if I were you I were you I would call Dan (the man) at Wheeler's Offroad, order 1.5" progressive ALL's (and their superbumps... awesome), then follow my advice on turning up the driver's side Fox 2.0 3 full turns.

In saying that, you can go the full 3" of lift up front (7 turns on driver's and half that on passenger) bc you have the UCA's and do the progressive ALL's and leave the overload spring in to put you where you are now and vastly improve everything. Just be aware, you are stressing components being that high and if you plan to have your truck until it blows up (like me), I would go with the first suggestion.

Did you have your coilovers custom tuned, or are they straight out of the box from Fox? I found them for $775 from Headstrong but I don't think they tune every shock they send out like one of the other vendors I was looking at on here. But if they're great out of the box, I may just save the money and not worry about it.

Again broski, FOX custom tunes them vehicle specific and they ride amazing... it's crazy, stellar cornering and control, but super plush at the same time. Also, that's an incredible price, SNAG them!

I have fox 2.0s and the ride is great, curently have them sset out of the box at roughly 2.5" of lift with a 1" rear block. Going to be removing the block and get new leaf packs.

If you don't have any sag in your factory leaves, go with the progressive add-a-leaf springs. The install is a pain, but way cheaper than a new pack and they ride amazing. I went from 1" blocks to what I have described and couldn't be happier. Just my 2 cents. FOX!!!!

BTW, do you get any popping sounds out of those Camburg UCA's?

Just be sure that pop didn't happen when the wheels were turned. Popping when suspension moving up and down=uniball on UCA (not a problem)... Popping when turning tires sharply at low speed=too much pressure on CV axle and too much lift for them.

You may need to back down the front a bit if the CV joint is stressing. Just looking out.

I'll keep this in mind. I don't recall having the wheel turned. I have it lifted 2.5" in the front. Hope it's not the cv axle.

What was the hassle with the AAL? Going to put one on, I already have the Fox's installed.

Don't worry about your CV joints unless they pop with the tires turned in 4wd, that's all I was saying. My fault for not being clear on that Mully. That, and I wheel the crap out of my Taco, need to maintain low center of gravity, need front mud flaps (GA red mud) so not going bigger than 265/75r16's, annnnd the Yotota has to last a long time bc wife & I are doctors w hella student loans... Thank you obamass for making it to where you accrue interest while still in school... Added ~$70k, ugh.

As for the AAL's, I recommend using the progressive 3-leaf ones from Dan at Wheeler's. I did a pretty detailed description of the install at the first part of this thread. Only thing I will say again is it would've been far easier to do on a lift rather than sketchy jack stands and 2x4's. Ok, super sketchy.

Basically, it just needs to happen. I used to bottom out constantly with the blocks and now I jump my baby on occasion :D and with the added cushion of the Wheeler's Off-road super bumpstops, I never feel the harsh hit when landing.

So, rode in a guy's base model 4x4 with bilstein 6112's (on the highest setting), OMU rear shocks, and Dakar leaf springs a couple of days ago. Wholly crap balls of fire! His ride is crazy stiff and I have no idea how it lined up because his factory UCA's are dang near touching the coils... I don't think his ball joints will last long bc they are clearly at their max. My point is that if you want 3" of front lift, there's no question that Mully is spot on with the need for aftermarket UCA's. Also, and I stress this, the Fox 2.0's don't have even close to the oil capacity of the 6112's, but with the corrosion resistant alluminum housing they seem to cool just fine and ride FAR better. After riding in his truck and time constraints, I didn't have the the heart to ride him in my taco bc he loves the 6112's over factory tockico's and didn't want to "rain on his parade." Just an update.

Anybody with feedback on corrosion after long term use? I'm leaning toward these as a rear shock option due to the aluminum body which would help living on the coast.

Is it worth spending the extra $$ for the adustable 2.0s? My truck bed would be empty mostly with the occasional tow or coolers/fishing gear.

Another Chase, nice haha. Mine have been holding up great to red mud and sand/creek water. As long as you run a roost guard on the passenger side to protect the shaft from rocks you will be good to go in my opinion.
As far as the extra $$, I didn't think it was worth it at first. However, after playing with them I love the ability to "tighten up" or "soften up" the rear when towing or hitting the woods. If you run dirt roads fast and also do slow wheeling, they're a godsend. Lastly, spend the money on Wheeler's super bumps. I jump my truck at least once a month and it's like landing on a cloud of awesomeness.

Thanks Doc  I noticed some are inverting the shocks so the shock body is at the bottom near the axle. Is this why you are recommending the roost guard? Or do you suggest getting one for the passenger side regardless?

Yea, the adjustments seem really cool but alot of extra cash for that option. I'm not very suspension savy so it might make sense to go with less moving parts. Still very tempting lol

I looked into the inverted versions, but they don't make those anymore to my knowledge. I think one company, maybe headstrong off-road, was adapting the inverted ones from the FJ's for tacos, but stopped. The non-adjustable Foxes are tuned to be right in the middle of the adjustable settings (have spent considerable time talking to Fox). If my words don't inspire you to play with the adjusters, then jump on the the regular remote resi's. They literally tune them to our trucks, you'll be happy. Ask for Steve (think that's the new guy's name... Replaced Dan "the man" aka yotadan) at Wheeler's and he'll get you right. Def get the roost guard bc running roads like I do they get pelted in front of the axle. Inversion is cool, but why sacrifice the shock body if the shock isn't designed to be inverted and you can put a guard on it to save the shaft? Once again, put Wheeler's super bumps front and rear man... I literally don't feel when I bottom out with those things.

Thanks for the advice! Bumpstops along with rear shocks are on my list. I actually don't like the look of the inverted shock, I was just curious.

Time to start looking or waiting for deals :anonymous:

Can someone provide more info on installing the 2.0 rears with resi?

I see it's mentioned that you have to switch the bushings out so I'll need to get a tool for that. I just want to be sure I have everything accounted for before my truck is in the air and I'm doing the install. I don't have alot of tools but I'm slowly aquiring them.
