Just got back from survival training with my sons Scout troop. Good times! Started fires, made shelters, purified and filtered water. Then BBQ and beers after for some dads.

    Let's here the story!!!

So I have a story of my own for you guys...

I emailed SOS a week or so ago for a status update and got no response for 7 days, so I sent a follow up email asking for a status update.... this is the response I got:

"Can't answer a question sir. If I don't have a order number or invoice. I have been extremely busy as well working to get order out. And bumpers don't get delivered to your door step. They arrive at the 3pl hub."

This guy had no problem giving me a status update with just my first and last name before, why the issue now? And is it me, or does this email come off as extremely rude to anyone else? I am pretty pissed because good customer service is of paramount importance to me and I almost want to cancel this bumper and go buy a c4 or SSO bumper. But maybe I am misreading this emails' tone? I figured I would get an opinion from you guys first.

Cancel it? Or give him a shot?

Eddy is fairly curt and to the point. I recieved the same type of responses and sometimes a couple of days later. From what I understand he isn't big on conversation personally either so I didn't look nto it too far. I ordered my skids at th close of his sale and picked them up Tuesday from Fastenal. Appaently his sale was successful and he is absolutely swamped. Read into it what you'd like but I've not been disappointed with his products yet

It is SUPER important... but that doesn't mean it's not an awesome bumper. Haha part of me wants to cancel on principle, part of me says "just look past it."

My wife hates when I send food or drinks back telling me they are going to spit in my food.... I will send that food back if the spit doesn't taste good.

Yea that's why I asked you guys... haha I was wondering if his email / conversation etiquette was just crap or if it was a personality thing.

I think I'm going to give him one more shot.... especially since if I cancelled, I would have to wait another 2 months for my bumper haha

I have no idea how long it takes to get a bumper most of these guys have pretty good lead times on them. He delivered my skids in about 4 weeks. I know he had to make them because I ordered them with some alterations. Yes his communication skills leave something to be desired. I have lost total interest in dealing with alot of these manaufacturesers because of their customer service. Mobtown being one of the first to go. Eddy and Pelfreybuilt were, I think, the only 2 that I contacted that who would work with me. Alot of them wouldn't even contact me beck after multiple attempts. For people who call themselves fabrictors this was nothing big to have to fix. I knocked it out in a couple of hours in a home shop.

yea that makes sense. like you said, I'm not going to sweat it... his email tone / personality aside, I am going to wait and let his product speak for itself.

I've had nothing but good things to hear about SOS. I was going to have them build me a custom front bumper but I decided I couldn't deal with that weird angled front lip. Eddy was very prompt with responses and reasonably priced.

Alright guys here's the update on my suspension install yesterday with @fatfurious2.

Front suspension went on great and honestly the hardest part was removing the foot long bolt that holds the factory UCAs in place. While driving home my truck didn't even pull right or left when I let go of the steering wheel. :)

For the rear we had one side disassembled and were getting ready to remove the other OEM leaf spring when we noticed that I only had 1 pair of bushings to use for the OME dakars. I'm waiting to hear back from a guy on youtube who said that we might have been able to use a pair of the factory ones from the old leafs, but for the time being we just put the factory rear back together until I hear back from either ARB or Headstrong. My dakars were shipped separately from everything I received directly from Headstrong, and I was missing a retaining bolt for one of the dakars. ARB is sending me this piece, but that was not something that was going to hold up the install anyway. Video on that here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqEOru5BxaU

The bushings were shipped from Headstrong with my Bilstein shocks and 887 coils. So I'm not sure if they forgot to send me 2 pairs of bushings or if you really do re-use a pair from the factory leafs.

Anyway, for the time being I'm rocking a slight bro lean, but hopefully this will be resolved quickly so I can complete the install and purchase tires. Whew!

I'll post some pics of the front later today.

Thanks again to David for all of his help. Great guy!
