I know the overhead dome and front MAP lights will AUTO turn off after ~30 seconds. But if they are manually turned ON... they will STAY on(until manually turned off). I need a timer or something!!
High powered LEDS + 8hr work day = no Bueno
    Ask me how I know:bananadead:

Damn bro. You're lucky that's the extent of the damage.
    What's with the wire nut?

What were you doing and why..?? Did you check in "settings" in the head unit for the time settings..??

That is the T10 socket adapter so it will plug into where the OEM light bulb was.
I clicked the overhead light on, forgot about it... and came back 8 hours later to find it melted. There is no auto shutoff if you MANUALLY click it on.:annoyed:

Ahh I see that now! At least there wasn't any ECU damage. (See my own dumbass mistake).

Why not just use correctly poweres LED's rather than ones that are obviously not designed for that location? Put in a timer, but what happens when that fails, or you leave it on in the middle of the summer when that areas already been pre-heated. My preference would be to chuck that led setup for something more suitable.

Might be time to put LED light bulbs into the sockets and forget those high powered things...! Like most switches....ON means ON and OFF means OFF...... Damn that sucks.... hope nothing was ruined. I'd go back to OEM or an LED bulb..... too much chance of a fire here, I think. Good luck

It was my fault. Luckily nothing was damaged besides the led board. I already swapped it out and it's good to go. And I have tried single led bulb replacements but they suck for light output.

I might have you confused with someone else... but didn't I just see posts by you a few days ago where you were installing some super-powered leds to shine into the bed from the light above the rear window?

Yup that's me. Hopefully I don't leave the bed lights on constantly for 8 hours straight. o_O
I have actually been testing the cargo light on the bench running for about an hour straight. The housing is warm but that's about it. Also, it IS on a timer.
Anytime you switch from an incandescent bulb to a miltiple LED array there will be an increase in light AND heat... that's just the way it is. The key is to balance both.
