I've scanned around and can't seem to find an answer to this: Can I lock my doors from the outside while the engine is running (so i can leave my dog in there for short periods)?

Yes. Just have to use your physical key out of your smart key. Or you can get the remote start by kbvoodoo. Wire it up when you get out of car shut it off then just remote start it. I've got it installed in my truck took about 45 min to install and works great during cold days and also hot days.

Open the window. Open the truck door. Hit lock.get out. Close door. Reach in and auto close window. Open truck with key hidden in key fob.

well, that just makes too much sense. [facepalm]. i was just looking for a setting or something in the options that allowed you to use your remote from outside like other vehicles i've had.

I found all of this out when I was stressing over the Smart key system. Once I learned how it is supposed to function it seems like a handy set up.

Hoping to find out how handy in the next week.

    Ready to pull the trigger.
