Anyone running the ARB bumper? I'm interested in how it installs. It looks like you use part of you factory bumper?

@dorton used to have it, pretty sure he got rid of it now.

I love it and want it.
From what I understand it uses part of the factory bumper. You do have to cut it and the grill I believe for it to fit.

@dorton, why did you get rid of this bumper? I love the looks compared to most of the others out there. Besides the fact it looked better on the fj and 2nd gen tacoma.

You could probably check the install pdf on the website for that bumper, my guess is either full removal of old bumper, or lots of trimming!:sawzall:

One of the many reasons why I opted out. The front of the Tacoma is big enough without a huge battering ram attached to it.

They look good from the front but make sure you look as some side profiles before you get one!
And yes, it will require trimming of the factory bumper and flare

I just had mine installed and really like it. No pics yet but the installer said it was a pita to install. Took 11 hours total.

I like in on the older trucks and the land cruiser 70 series. It would look great if the front of the Tacoma ended at about the headlights or where there first vertical bar of the hoop is. That profile pic just shows how far it sticks out. The bumper is straighter on the olde rvehicles but you can see the new design in made like a C because the Tacoma nose is so big. Wish ARB found a way to partially tuck their bumper into the truck like other companies.

EDIT: please excuse my shitty photoshop skills

Admittedly it does stick out a bit far but I like that the winch is totally enclosed and it attaches in a way that doesn't simply transfer all impact force into the frame. It is also designed in a country where protection from animal strikes is vastly more important than it is here due to the extreme distances from civilization depending on the journey.

OP, also consider that the ARB doesn't have recovery locations (minus the winch). Most aftermarket bumpers have some sort of reinforced shackle loops. ARB doesn't - but they offer recovery points that can be bolted to the frame and work in conjunction with the bumper.

I can safely tell y’all if you order an ARB Summit bar DO NOT order it from Liftkits4less through Amazon. The bumper (3423150k) itself showed up damaged and none of the mounting hardware/lighting kits showed up at all. Have been dealing with them from 12/15/17 till now trying just to get the damaged one returned for a refund. Not a bash on ARB at all just a bad retailer. Who ever handled the packaging on this bumper did a horrible job as well.

How it arrived to me while I was not home. Just left in front of garage door. Bumper was barely on the pallet face down. Cling wrap was loose allowing the bumper to rock around just about any where it wanted. I was able to stand the bumper upright without removing the cling wrap.50BEFEC6-6F56-4A60-8CAB-10CFF32ECFDB.jpg

Shape the pallet was in when the bumper was moved out of the way. You can see the nails sticking up that did a good deal of the damage to the coating.

I have purchased several ARB bumpers over the years and this is the only one that I have received with any damage damage. All the others have come in a large cardboard box or wooden crate with all parts included. This loosely cling wrapped to a broken pallet is not the new norm from ARB I hope!

Not a happy LiftKits4less/Amazon customer here. Waiting till Tuesday after the holiday to file an A to Z claim on the bumper with Amazon. This delay is simply my holiday sprit giving them the benefit of the doubt.
