I just got done with a successful installation of an all-in-one subwoofer (Infinity Basslink) using ********* "add-a-subwoofer" harness in my 2017 TRD Pro. I was a bit confused on how to hook up a subwoofer to a stock system as I've only ever installed subwoofer/amps with aftermarket HU's that had pre-outs.

I used ********* web chat and had all my questions answered immediately. During my install today, I had another quick question. Got on their webpage and used the chat again and had immediate response. I know some people have had issues with customer service and *********. I would highly recommend using the chat feature.

I was very happy with how straight forward the installation was. My Infinity Basslink has speaker inputs which are required/necessary for any stock HU subwoofer installation (w/out buying a separate line out converter). The harness provided by ********* eliminates any guess work and made the installation not only clean but 100% reversible. I now have some nice bass to my stock system without having to damage/cut any of the stock wires. Very happy!

What pics do you want? Pics of the harness in my system will be impossible as I already have the stock HU re-installed. However, I ran the leads from the harness to my amp/sw's speaker inputs. Worked like a charm to send a signal from the stock HU to my amp/SW.

If you want pics of how my setup looks like regarding exposed wiring and sw location, I can provide them. The Basslink all-in-one system I'm using is from my old 1st gen Taco. I was about to try and sell it but decided to install it my 2017 double cab (free bass... why not). I have one child seat (soon to be two) in the rear so foot space wasn't really a concern to me in regards to the rear seats. I did, however, make everything plug-n-play so removing the sub/amp takes me all of 5 seconds. It's pretty nifty. Found a quick disconnect used for trailers to make a plug-n-play setup for the amps power as well (even came with a rubber plug so the power cables will be safe in the cab when not in use and tucked away).

As stated, foot room in the back seats aren't really a concern for me as they're quickly being taken care of my minions. Right now the passenger side rear seat is occupied by my little guy so he doesn't need the extra foot room. This is why that space was fine to be taken up by the Infinity Basslink I had on hand. If I were to do this with maximizing space, I would buy a similar (lower profile) all-in-one unit and mount it under the passenger seat (maybe drivers seat). Since I had this Basslink on hand from my old truck, I said, "why not". As mentioned I also made the sub fully plug-n-play for quick and easy removal.

    Pics below...

Fully plug-n-play (the purple and green wires connect to the ********* harness leads... super simple and a quick solder job of four wires). I used an Orion trailer quick disconnect for the power and ground wires that is designed for 8 gauge wires (the big red quick disconnect in the pictures below). Worked great!

Found a nice little spot under the hood right under the clutch fluid reservoir (for those who don't have this... it's near the fuse box) for the fuse. Used a zip tie and routed it through the two holes in the body and secured it around and through the fuse holder. Nice and secure.

BTW, this Basslink has plenty of punch and boom for the small cab in my Tacoma. I've always been happy with this unit for it's ease of use/space and how much bass it produces for smaller cabs. Highly recommended. It also has an auto-on feature as well as speaker inputs to work with the factory unit and does not require a remote wire if used with speaker inputs. The Basslink also comes with a dial control for subwoofer level. Again, with a factory system that doesn't have subwoofer level control settings, having a separate subwoofer level control accessible on my dash (I don't have to set it on the sub itself although the sub has a gain setting as well) for on-the-fly changes is flipping' fantastic.
