Blacked out the chrome. Off Road Steel Rear Bumper Replaced after a jerk texting failed to stop at low speed. Flatten my plastic bumper and bent my tailgate. Now nothing hurts the back.
So I ditched the jeep after several long years of aching back problems from combat injuries. I decided I did not like climbing under things either so just wanted a nice looking truck that I could pull in a parking garage in the city occasionally, while still enjoying the perks of some add on customizing gadgets. I decided on the 3rd generation Tacoma, Hope I did not make a mistake. Like the variable shift transmission and the Atkinson engine? So after three months of enjoyment, while in stop and go traffic, a lady texting decides to rearrange my bumper and rear tailgate. $4900 later on her part, I get it back and promptly removed the plastic 20 pound bumper and put a real one made of steel weighing 135 pounds. 5 months after that, another lady misses the brake pedal and slams on the gas and bends the bumper and tow bar to an unnatural configuration but my tail gate survived unscathed. I replaced the parts again the same heavy bumper and was happy for the upgrade. Now just looking to sit a bit higher in the cab and slightly more forward to alleviate some minor back pain. Thank you to all the great comments I found on this forum. I'll check back often.
