The stock lower control arms are garbage on this truck. I have been battling this "clunk" for almost 2 years now and finally traced it to the lower control arm bushings. Buying the new lower control arms was a waste of time and money. It only lasted for a year tops before the clunking came back. I am buying these guys soon.... http://shop.dirtkingfabrication.com/Performance-Lower-Control-Arms-DK-811904.htm

The aftermarket lca's are cool looking and all, but will the uni balls live through a salt use area?

The old bushing were worn and when the shop pressed in the new ones on the lower control are they were good for about 2000 miles then the clanking came back so I thought it was something ells not thinking the new bushings I just had put in would be the issue. we torked them a few times and nothing changed

While these are great so far, I too have the turn and clunk noise. If it is indeed the LCA, the Dirtkings won't fix it. Anyone have a video of the sound?

The problem is quality of the parts. The bushings are cheap crap and dont last then you get a loose spot and when force is applied they move and you hear the clunk. Better quality parts like on the dirt kings and im sure this problem will be greatly alleviated . And the best part is repalcing the cheap ball joint with a uniball.

If it's the same sound, I had it after the Dirt King install.

So what is everyone getting their LCA torqued to? Someone mentioned 110 earlier but no one confirmed this is what the LCAs need to be torqued to. Online for the energy suspension parts bushings @Justinlhc mentioned, the directions say torque to 100. Was just seeing what everyone else was doing.

my Cam bolts have seized up and I need to replace my Lower control arms in the process.

Which aftermarket lower control arms are better?

DirtKing performance Lower control arms DK 811904 for $1499

    or

Total Chaos Standard Stock length uniball lower control arms 86500 for $1730

I want to upgrade to uniball which both have but don't know which is better and is TC $230 more worth it?

The Dirt Kings you listed are more in line design wise with the single shock TC race LCAs. I'm in the same boat as you decisionwise, and its a coin toss. I do like that the TC ones have a built in beefy skid. Plus the arms stand out a little more looking at it from the front, if you care about that. I'm really thinking about the Dirt King ones right now...or LT.

    My consideration list is:
    Dirt King LCA 1500
    LSK LCA 1500
    TC Std 1700ish
    TC Single Race 18-1900ish
Or just say to hell with it, and pick up a Baja Kits +2

Slowly buy one LCA at a time, get ebay codes and what not. I got mine for $250 and a local shop quoted me 135 per side to install.
