Here's my setup. It's a 9mm 8" SBR. It fits perfectly sideways behind the driver's seat and can barely be seen even looking directly into the back of the cab. I know the risk goes up for a smash and grab, but I don't live in an area with an high crime rate so the to me the risk is minimal. Plus the whole setup goes in and out of the house with me so it doubles as ONE of my HD guns.

Sorry if this sounds confrontational but, if you live in an area that isn't high crime, why do you carry an AR 9mm SBR?

    Wouldn't just a handgun suffice?

    No worries,
I don't live in a high crime rate area, but there still is some. You never know when that some may come around you. I may sound a little paranoid, which I'm sure is partly true, but I'd rather have than have not Good Forbid I'm ever in that situation.

I'm always carrying my handgun on me, but I don't carry a spare mag on my person. The AR is for backup/truck gun.

Love it! I had to remove the pinned in weight in the bolt so the extension would fit, but it still runs great.

If your looking at them make sure to get the 3rd gen. It's supposed to be more rigid and a lower profile so you won't drag your charging handle on it.

I actually already ordered it. Brownell had it for $190 with $10 off and free shipping.

I can say for certain that a MPX SBR fits perfectly with a 20 round mag in the under seat storage on a 3rd Gen AC.

You can always buy one of the PacSafe mesh bags to put your daypack in. I keep my BOB in one in the back of my truck with an old blanket over it. No guns in it but it's still not cheap and camper shells are easy to break into.

I've seen those Pacsafe bags, but they looked difficult to get my rifle out quickly. My thought is, I could use my handgun that I carry on my person to be able to get to my rifle. If ever an encounter requiring it goes that far.
