i have a ball from a previous set up I will take off the draw bar since it had a 2" receiver. My tow will be well under the limits on my 03 2wd but there is no place to attach the safety chains. Do you loop them thru the gap between the license plate or do I need to add something? Thanks

I would add a pair of stout eyebolts as a minimum. However, I used the bumper hitch on my T100 for loads significantly less than the truck's rating and eventually the bumper mounts broke. I was running on some pretty rough mountain roads, tho. A receiver hitch fixed the problem and was not particularly expensive.
