    Listen to da man...

LT's (Light Truck) are definitely going to give you a harder ride. A "P" rated tire will be a softer ride. Like ace96 said, post up what your pressure your running in those things. Letting some air out might help your ride. LT's usually have a higher max psi rating. It doesn't mean that's what they need to be inflated to.

It sounds like the main issue is the LT's then. Either get used to it, or pick up a new set of P rated tires.

"Rough ride" is a very subjective evaluation. My father and others have often commented on how my '98 Mercedes SL500 has a "rough ride", when to my mind it's a bit of a marshmallowy, wallowing ride as compared to a real sports car (It's is not a "sports car", but rather a "luxury touring roadster"). For someone accustomed to most vehicles sold in the US (which are generally FWD, ride like mush, oversteer, and handle like crap) I can see how a Prerunner could be felt to have a harsh "ride".

OTH I am impressed with how relatively smooth and well-behaved my '09 DCSB is...

So do most of you guys agree that would help soften or smooth out the ride a little bit by switching to P tires

You said your truck had a lift on it. Post some pictures of the leaf springs and the front coil overs. Thev type of lift could possibly be another contributing factor to how it rides.

I still recommend that you go drive a couple other Tacomas before dumping any money into it. If this is your first time with one (welcome to TW, btw!) it may just be that you're used to cars and maybe all Tacos feel relatively rough like yours.

Your ride will smooth out immensely with p rated tires. Going from my stock tires to my current e rated was night and day.

Very small spacer. Looks like it's still using the stock studs. There is no way that's making it ride any rougher than it was without it.

My guess is it just rides like a Tacoma.

That's what I am thinking, it would be interesting to know "where the OP came from" before the Taco?
