I have a set of custom Deaver springs on the rear of the truck. I sent them the weight of the truck before they built the springs.

I don't think the bedsides are spreading - but I am planning on building a set of supports anyway.

The carpet on the tailgate covers the aluminum tailgate re-enforcement cover. It makes it a little cooler to sit on in the summer months - and warmer in the winter months.

    Thank you.

No drawer system for me. I just went with the simple platform.

Lowes or Home Depot in their flooring department. They have huge rolls of outdoor carpet that they will cut to just about any length. I measured the amount I would need to cover the top of my plywood with enough to wrap around the back for stapling.

I ordered mine from BedRug. It is the same product they sell pre-cut, but in bulk.

I kind of wish I wen't with something like this so i could easily remove and store it when not in use. I build mine planning to put in draws but it hasn't happened yet. Maybe once it gets a bit nicer out i'll go for it. However, the extra weight of my platform is nice for driving in the snow...but not so nice on mpg.

I used both 3M spray adhesive and staples. Spray the plywood and the carpet and let it dry for a few minutes until it's tacky. Then carefully place the board down onto the carpet, folding up the edges around to the back side. That's where I used a utility knife to help cut the carpet so that it folds properly at the corners. Then I stapled the carpet thoroughly on the under/back-side of the plywood.

I'm planning on making a drawer just like this in the next couple of months. Looks great man. I especially like the dividers.
What did you use for the drawer slides, and where did you mount/place them?

I picked up a roll of outdoor carpeting at Lowes. Also, I ended up putting in 1/2in of carpet padding as well. I can sleep back there with just a sleeping bag now, although a foam pad of course makes it more comfortable. Either way, it still beats sleeping on the ground.

    Velcro.

I sew strips of the loop half to carpet, and stick the hook part to the platform. So far, the sticky back is holding.

    No pictures.

The entire width at the tailgate, 2 12" pieces on each side (evenly spaced), and on the tailgate side of the cutout for the forward storage compartments. (Sounds confusing, but look at the first page of my build thread - you can see the entire platform being built.)

In essence, I put the Velcro on the side edges and any edge that could get "caught" by sliding something into the bed.

I can install/uninstall in under 60 seconds (if I'm backed up to my garage door). Going to pick up a couple of those long & narrow under bed storage bins for under platform storage.

Wanting to sell my platform if anyone's interested. Only used it for a month or so. Located in Princeton WV.

I used the trowel on carpet adhesive (Home Depot - Roberts brand I think) with a roller only on the top of the platform. Once that cured I flipped it over and pulled tight and stapled to the bottom with cutting carefully on the corners to prevent overlap/bunching. The indoor/outdoor carpet I bought had the rubber waterproof bottom. It still folded nicely around the edge of the plywood (5/8").
