So I'm in Las Vegas up in the Fremont street looking in the crap shops and just started laughing...... I thought of Chad ... when I saw this plate..

Enjoy..i spent a while in that area when I went 3 yrs ago. That and hit the waterslide at the Nugget where you go through the fishtank

 

Same here. I like horror movies, but jump scares are cheap. I want something actually scary!

See, I don't care for 'horror' films because mostly they're ridiculously predictable and full of stupid, stupid people.

 

Check out "Fury". Meets 2 of your criteria seeing as how Brad Pitt is in it and it's about a WW2 Sherman tank crew. Caught it the other night and enjoyed it.

It's really good. Being a former tanker, enjoyed the historical aspects of the vehicles both allied and German. Still say that "Saving Private Ryan" ranks as one of the top war movies made. Talked to friend that was in the merchant marines watching his brother go across the beaches at Normandy and he said that he couldn't make it through the opening sequence it was so realistic.

 

yeah that's a hard movie to watch and i obviously don't have a frame of reference for it

 

True classic cinema. I think too it is funny to realize the outrage it met with worldwide and now it is run of the mill for violence

 

Band of Brothers and the Pacific are my favorites, if I happen to come across them I end up watching them all!

 

I hate horror movies

 

Always liked the war movies that at least some element of truth in it. "We were soldiers once" is another good one.

 

When I was kid, the neighbor across the street had served in WWII and went to Iwo Jima. He owned a garage and as a teenager, I spent many a day there shootin' the breeze. That was one thing that he never talked about, ever...

 

Those are my go-to movies to watch. If you have HBO GO. they are available 24/7/365. I've watched them both (entire series) numerous times.

Apocalypse Now
Longest Day
Bridge of the River Kwai
Saving Private Ryan

These are in no particular order, as they are just the ones that came to mind.

I missed this one. Incredible movie.

Oh... And like @DoubleRGirl , I have a strong dislike for Horror Movies.

 

I've seen and enjoyed all those movies. Loved Alec Guinness and his character in "Bridge". (and then he went on to his greatest role ever as Obi Wan Kenobi. Shout out to the Star Wars fans) Anyone ever see "Stalag 17"? Not so much an action movie but an excellent movie none the less.

 

Most horror movies are too predictable.
