I purchased a new grill shell for a project but it didn't come with the weather strip that runs along the top of it.

Anyone know the part number or where to buy the specific part? Google wasn't much help.

    The grill is aftermarket.

I would contact the manufacturer for any help they might give you. Or try the Toyota website and work through to parts listings...

That's for a RAV4, not a Tacoma. Click on the space marked "What this fits"...

Yeah I just saw that was for a Rav.

That site lists all the parts for the grill except the seal.

I'll have to take a trip to the parts store to see what they have for weather stripping.

it might not even have a seal if it's not shown on the entire assembly from Toyota's parts site...

My factory grill has one. It makes the fit between the grill and the hood a lot better.

I'll have to test fit the new grill without it first I guess.

    Thanks for the help.

No problem. that's what TW members try to do...maybe the strip can be removed from the factory grille?? Don't know how it's attached, of course...

Maybe remove factory grill and reinstall on new grill?

The seal is just held on with little black clips. They are t shaped. I think you can pull the weatherstrip off of the clips and then remove them from the grille.

Looks like it's listed under hood components instead of with the grille. Part number 5338104040.

I believe that is the seal that attaches to the underside of the hood and aligns with the upper tie bar when the hood is shut. I think you can only get the grille seal with the grille. I bought an aftermarket stock grille last year off of Amazon and it came with the seal.

OP, did this ever get resolved? What did you end up doing for the weather stripping?

I removed mine from the stock grille.
Probably the worst of swapping grilles!
My aftermarket grille was missing one hole. Stock on mine had two about 2” apart on pass side I think.
The top brackets that have screws have T clips? Hidden inside the plastic.
Believe the center needs to come out to get to them.
I warmed everything up and pulled the strip enough to get the clip out from the strip.
I did not put them in the aftermarket grille which had the holes.
    There are a lot anyway!
