Noise from clutch linkage on manual 6 speed 4WD 2014

My clutch linkage makes a grinding or squeaking noise on the way up or down. Clutch works fine, problem can be felt in your foot as you go up or down. Dealer says there is a bulletin but not a recall--they want to replace whole pedal and linkage assembly (about $750). Doesn't seem right at 60,000 miles. Any thoughts?

 

IMO, no, it doesn't seem right. Unfortunately, this is a well-worn topic... Search is your friend.

 

Takes about 30 minutes to an hour to take it apart and grease the pivot assembly yourself. The pivot gets dry and that usually causes the noises. I'd say there is probably no need to replace any parts... just re-grease.

Mine was having the same issues when I bought it around 30k miles. Grease fixed it right up, still good 17k later.
