The piston doesn't really support weight.

Dremel, trim tailgate material, cable back on. It is starting to take the proper shape for easy operation now.

Ive owned my ez down for two years and have experienced similar tollerable issues cable kink, rub, push to outside and difficult to close. My cable just cut and im not looking to replace the oem cable. Instead i plan on crimping on a thinner cable. Does anyone have any experience with the cable cutting? Was even thinking about trying para 550.

I like the mod as it aides in opening while in the bed camping and one handed opening thus id like to keep the mod and appreciate all input.

I too have purchased this mod, and noticed that the torx screw is tack-welded in place. I have no idea how to get this thing out. 2012 Tacoma.

    Any suggestions?

Yup, my 2012, the cable is binding with the strut, did try it without cable and it works fine,if you can handle it without the cable then it works good, if not then go back to stock.
