GMG makes a tail gate version. I looked at one and it will fit a couple of 8 lb butts.

It's not a smoker but my dad has a Magma grill on his boat. You clamp an adapter onto one of the rails on the boat and leave it there, then when you want to cook the grill attaches to the clamped-on piece and hangs out over the water so the grease doesn't drip on your boat deck. I'm sure you could adapt it to mount on a spare tire carrier. Of course it might just be easier to get a weber smokey joe and put it on the ground or some rocks or wherever.

Traeger has a tailgater version and a table top version also. I think the tabletop would be better suited for this type of mounting but either would likely work just fine with an adapter to hook to the swing out. I've never done it but sounds like a cool thing.

Will the bed outlet power a pellet pooper when the motor is turned off?

I believe there's a mod for that. Not sure how the battery would hold up. :notsure:

The green mountain link above says he igniter is 100w. My truck is an SR5 so it didn't come with an inverter in the bed but it says it runs off 12v too which is pretty kick ass. Some reason I keep thinking about being in the middle of DV and kicking that smoker on and having it be a dinner bell for coyotes hahaha. But still would be a kick ass idea.

I'm not positive what the bed inverter can output but the specs say it takes 300 watts for the first 3 minutes (getting the fire pot started) and then 50 watts for the remainder of the cook time to run the auger/fan and other electronics. Would need to figure out at those various watt draws what it would take to drain the battery and such.
