Would that work with a soft tonneau as well?? How do you seal it so that it doesn't leak. My tonneau right now is completely waterproof, as unbelievable as that sounds, haha, and I don't want to lose that feature.

It will would with most covers.

Where the brackets go under the cover, there could be a little leakage. If it were a huge concern, a little foam could be used as a gasket.

    That sums it up.

What we're trying to do with these crossbars is definitely not what nature intended.

What type of "taper resistant" hardware is included with the option without the knobs? I initially wanted the actual mid-height rack till I saw this one and it can work with the factory tri-fold cover.
What would an extra set of knobs (2) cost if I ordered the dual bar setup with the tamper resistant hardware? I'd like the rear bar easily removable if needed for more access.

We use tamper proof allen head bolts. They require a special wrench, which we provide. I could supply you with half and half, if that helps.

Do you have any pictures of a hi-lift jack mounted to the side like you said in the first post?
