If your looking at Bilstein 5100s, they only adjust up to 2", and ride quality is pretty much crap when they're adjusted all the way.

If you're dead set on 3" of lift, then you can look at combining the Bilstein 5100s set at 0" with a new coil, many use Old Man Emu coils. If you've got a lot of weight up front, one of the stiffer coils would probably work best, the 886 or 887.

I do have to warn you, at 3" of lift, CV angles become an issue, and you pretty much have to get adjustable upper control arms to keep your suspension geometry reasonable. Adjustable UCAs run anywhere from $400 to $600 depending on the brand you choose.

Good info here. The OME 886x coils will give you about 2.5 inches of lift, but have a higher spring rate (stiffer) so they can handle extra weight up front. The 885 and 887 springs have the same spring rate, but the 887 is taller and will you about 3inches of lift compared to 2.5 of the 885s. These will also sag more than the 886x's if you have weight in the front.

All good info. OP, what configuration is your truck? Access cab, double cab, 4wd, 2wd? 886s are what you want. They have a spring rate of 660lbs and are meant to handle additional weight up front without sagging or nose diving when hitting the brakes. Depending on your truck configuration, it'll raise it 2.5-3".

Once you get above that 2.5", you're in the territory of needing new UCAs to get back into alignment, otherwise you'll eat tires and your steering will be funky. New UCAs are about $450, so keep that in mind.

Toytec coilovers Fabtech uca's Dakars and 5100's in the back.
I'm real happy with my Toytec coilovers with Bilstein 5100 shocks in them. 630.00 though just for the coilovers. You will need upper control arms too if you go 3''. Another 4 to 600 dollars. That's just the front.

Then 886s will support the weight and get you about 2.5" of lift, which is perfect. You won't need new UCAs. There's really no point in going for a full 3" since that half inch costs an extra half grand to obtain.
