Spent an hour rubbing a rag with gas on my home made grill to take off the damn plasti dip I put on, thinking I would like it and if not just peel it off... but NOT! didn't put thick enough to peel so made a mess... But it is now time for a real color match and a mesh!

I'm doing the exact same thing! Hated the black grill surround so stripping it down this weekend and color matching my silver steak mica taco, hope I put enough layers on for a clean peel!

The same shit everyone else has.
    WD-40 eats right though Plasitdip.

Tonight, I got 2 of the 3 stripped bed rail bolts out. Took a little work but I didn't have to drill em out.

    7F2DBAE8-7751-49A8-9769-AF8A3D5C2779_zps_d408563fc7909b2900c98d40907abfdb9e6acc5c.jpg

I got all but the 1 remaining damaged one switched out to new stainless button cap bolts. I also finished installing the additional D rings under the rails.

    Next up, hatchet mount, tomorrow.

Use goo gone! I had my whole hood dipped on my last car, and used a bottle of goo gone and elbow grease and got it all off in an hour.

It is but the "color match" I got is not color match... was kinda upset... so I dipped it... didn't like it that much so took it off and put the chrome one for a while and now it is the time to get the custom one done for real so I can setup my behind the grill lights like I want!

Since the spring is here I can't stop to think about having shit done!

this was before with the black grill and no shell

SOF1113 is the one I ordered. I haven't gotten it yet, but it looks like it'll work for me. Not sure if the SmittyBilt situation would be the same.

Guy at the paint shop told me this color was really hard to match... for the grill I used a spray bottle so didn't had any chance for me but I didn't knew it at this time. Now I have leftover from when I had my shell color matched so I will use it for the grill. Since the shell is pretty close for the match I am confident for the grill

Made fender apron seals out of shower liner and some vinyl. Even though they're not perfect, it's still much better than my rotted out old ones. For $15, I couldn't be more pleased!
