Im in the same boat, sending mine in for surgery 1-2-17. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. From what i could fine, it sounds like alot of steering racks/intermediate steering columns are a common item the stealership will charge you for. From what i get from this recall im going to be very defensive on any charges they try to bring up. For one this is Toyotas mistake and any added repairs caused from this frame rape should be on Toyota! Now im grateful for this new frame but fuck if they expect me to pay out of pocket for things that are related to this frame repair and that are nonetheless wearable parts that are associated with the frame ill just pull my engineers card and tell them straight up how i drove this unsafe vehicle for 9 months when it "could have" damn near killed me if that frame buckles in at that vertical weld point. Im wondering if i can request them to extra coat the frame with rust preventative paint. Im also curious to know what aftermarket parts they will put back on, such as sliders, topper, exhaust, bumpers etc.

Now the one thing i know you should do before going in is video tape and picture the vehicle before, including ride height and every little detail under there. Then express that you have done this to your parts manager and im sure he/she will be on edge for your due diligence.

I had my frame replaced in august, it was for the most part painless, the only glitch was a bad wheel cylinder that they tryed to charge me to much for ($125) but I politely informed him that it was a $20 part and my mech would replace for less than $50, so I wasn't going to pay $125, after about 15min of going back an forth he finally dropped the price to $75 to which I agreed to.
Other than that there was no problems with any other parts.
The new frame comes with alot of new parts, cab mount bushings & bolts, new chain hoist for the spare tire, all fuel lines & brake lines that are in the frame, (does not include the rubber lines from the frame to the rear axle & calipers), this is all I can remember at the moment but there is a pretty long list of new parts that go with the frame.

As for aftermarket parts, they asked me to remove my plate bumper before I dropped off my truck,
the topper and my side steps stayed on during replacement.
The exhaust shouldn't be a problem, but I would remove the sliders before especially if they are welded on.

Be nice to the guys working on your truck, it goes along way,, until it's time to not be nice.

How long ago did they find the rust on your frame?

Sorry for the delay, they found rust a year a 7 months prior to replacement.
