$200.00 for the back window+rear doors and front doors :D, but it was worth it!

    Thanks.

Good luck on yours (FYI - the rear tint is 30% from the factory).

You can't tint over the back tint can you? I wish it was darker in the back.

Yes you can. My tint shop offered to do it but it was dark enough and since I have tinted windows in my shell I wanted to still see out.

Stock tint is actually in the glass is it not? It's not a film like aftermarket tinting. So you should not be laying film over existing film... something I can't beleive any professional would do.

You are correct, most stock tint is a layer of tint within the glass. However is a pretty common practice to layer tint films. This is especially true for people wanting an illegal tint job.

My front windows were tinted whn I bought my truck....ended up getting the tinting for "free". Bought my Taco on a Saturday afternoon....the dealership tint guy had tinted the windows the day before and had not installed the extra "dealer add-on" sticker for $300.00. The salesperson added it into the sales contract at first. I mentioned to him that there was no decal or prior disclosure of any additional costs for the tinting, and that I'm not paying for it, or they can pull it off the windows....so I ended uo getting the overpriced tinting for "free", and it matches the rear factory tinting.

As it turns out, we're moving back to Michigan, and I'll have to peel off my free tinting.......But if we move and I keep my truck plated for a while, I can keep the tint longer....

I know I am posting a little late to this thread but I felt like doing so anyway! =)

I got my 05 Taco 4-dr tinted with 15% all the way around including over the stock tint. Out here in California the cops don't really bother you about tint because there are SOOO many cars on the road with black windows they would be busy all day long.

It's really nice to have on the hot days but it can be challenging at night while backing up. Some additional back-up lights have really helped alot (aka A**hole lights for the crappy drivers that like to tailgate out here, keeps them a safe distance after you blind them)

It is a good thing to know cops because if I was ever to get pulled over the tint ticket is considered a fix-it-ticket and just needs a signature from a sheriff/cop/chip to get it taken care of, and my X is a sheriff and has taken care of me before for this little problem.

Just be careful if you drive out beyond New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada...

I lived in New Mexico and never had a problem, but as soon as you cross into Texas - watch out!

I have seen a number of people in the Lubbock and Amarillo area on the side of the road getting their tint scraped off by a ticked off cop.

...in any case, I bet your truck looks great with 15%.

I have a double cab 06 and factory is 35% on the back glass and the rear passanger windows. I put 5% over my back glass and passanger windows and 5% on my front driver and passanger. Looks great! Feels even beter! I have profesional limo tint on mine + done by in my book "the best in the buisness" JIMS SOALARGUARDS TOP OF THE LINE!

No problems here though with cops....their laid back with it around here..it also does help to know them!
