Anyone Own A - Yakima SkyRise 2 Rooftop Tent

I am ready to pull the trigger on the Yakima SkyRise 2 Rooftop Tent and wanted to know if anyone has any feedback?

I plan to mount it bed level on crossbars.

Thoughts / Feedback?

Curious, what's the reason for getting a shelter that sits on the truck and/or above the bed? Can't go anywhere when deployed, one other brand ive seen is really expensive and the guy I asked about his, was taking him over an hour to set up. Keep off rocks or mud/wet ground?

Sleeping above ground keeps the critters away and also keeps you off the ground from rain or uneven/rocky/cold terrain.


OP, I believe REI carries them. Try there for reviews. Don't see many people here straying from the more popular (expensive) brands yet.

Wow! The first links shelter cost is dang high. I can understand shelling out that kind of money, looking at all the upgrades people spend on their rig. I just got a Springbar tent and that was expensive to me at almost 600 smackers. Wild critters don't bother me, been backpacking since the early/mid 70s.
