not yet, pay day is next week, so the guy agreed to hold them for me for 2 weeks till I had the $$$. That should damn near empty out my paycheck, whatever is left goes towards the refurbishing.

Here is a little advice, if you're shopping new. New vehicles are commodities. Commodities are purchased on price alone, because why would someone pay $8 for a bushel of corn if they could buy one for $6? When I bought my Taco, I contacted every Toyota dealer from San Antonio to Killeen, and after they got done circle jerking each other, bought my truck in Kansas City, KS, saving $3K over the best price in Central Texas. Did the same for my motorcycles, bought them after nationwide searches, the first from Osseo, MN, and just recently from the Honda dealer in Waco. I never walk into a dealership until its time to write the check and drive off. The first time I took my Taco into Round Rock Toyota, they mentioned that I had purchased it elsewhere, even though I live here, and I told them that their internet sales department was a joke.

learning that the hard way:rofl: parents are helping pay driveshaft, so after alignment is squared away its time to save up for those brushed gold scs wheels (17's to clear the max tracs)

@toyohtadude On that note, one thing that surprised me was just how much the timing of your purchase meant: If you walked into the dealer with 1-2 days left until the end of the month, you're almost guaranteed to have greater success negotiating. Everyone from the salespeople to the desk managers who authorize the deals are under extreme pressure to meet their volume numbers, so they're willing to sell below invoice just to hit their goals. If you can walk in, point to the single truck you want to buy, and are either pre-approved from your bank or have cash-in-hand, you'll get a great deal pretty much anywhere. Good luck!

This is true. Its even more so at the end of the year. I bought my truck at the end of December. Also, Maund is a volume dealer so while browsing their inventory, if you see a vehicle thats been there for a month or 2, you will be able to get a better deal since they just want to move it off the lot.

Bobby (the guy with the sick red first gen beast) just texted me - he's going to be at C&C!

So, do we have a head count and breakdown of who is bringing what?

Check out the Malamoo. It works on the same principal of the circular windshield shades, where it kinda twists and untwists. Saw one in action- looked like a breeze to use!

Maybe @tacopromatt can offer a first-hand review, since it was his tent that I saw...
