Has anyone out there seen a ladder rack that doesn't completely make our trucks look hideous? The least ugly seems to be the Thule, but what good is a ladder rack if it only has 4.5' between the cross members? If you want to carry a long ladder or lumber i wouldn't think it would do a whole lot of good.

I was wondering if anyone had used a nice aftermarket roof rack combined with something similar (but better looking on the Tacoma) to the Thule sliding racks...except using only one bed rack instead of two. Basically I am thinking you could keep a solo bed rack slid forward towards the cab when not in use but when you wanted to haul something like a long extension ladder you could slide it towards the tailgate and rest the other part of the load on the cab rack. I think it would look better and function better than the Thule.

    Maybe.
