Sucked down a Waldos' Special on my lunch hour and whoa, got a little buzz on just the one! Had it a year a two ago and it's not my favorite but I've never been a fan of big beers, pretty darn boozy.

Yeah not a lunch beer unless lunch is the end of your day.

It hides the alcohol well though doesn't it.

Shoot now I need to scout some down.

Got this today and wanted to pass along...

    Hey melikeymybeer,

On April 7, 1933, the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law. The act allowed Americans to once again purchase beer that was 4.05 percent alcohol by volume or lower prior to the end of Prohibition on December 5, 1933.

We've come a long way since then. Today, there are more than 5,000 breweries in the US alone, options for beer lovers are seemingly endless, and consumers now have a powerful voice. And one of those voices is Beer Advocate.

    Thanks for your support.

    Cheers!

    I hear ya. It's a really good drink, but at 40bucks a 4pack. I just can't justify it.

Just got back from my local brewer.
He just did a new batch of IPA called Spring Loaded - Pink Grapefruit IPA
    Photo on 4-8-17 at 1.02 PM.jpg
Very tasty, not at all heavy on the fruit.
    He just started canning too.
Love that this place is 5 minutes down the road from me. :drunk:

So jealous. I live in a brewery desert. Closest one is an hour away. Although two hours away is a plethora of great breweries. Sacramento or SF Bay Area FTW.

Wandering Star - Spring Loaded IPA

    Photo on 4-8-17 at 1.32 PM.jpg

50lbs of grapefruit added at the end of the process. He also used an experimental hops call "grapefruit". Very easy to drink IPA. Great flavor, not overpowering at all.
    6.9% ABV.

    * As it got warmer, it did not get bitter like some IPAs. It actually got a little sweeter. Really like this spring offering from a local guy.

    So I brew my own.

Two on the docket today. Cream ale (of my own recipe) and an American wheat kit from morebeer.

    Dough in for Cream Ale:

And while that's converting I'm boiling the wheat:

It's probably one of the more satisfying hobbys I do. It's really fun.

    That and exercise.
