I hunted for 9 months. I used Craigslist and set my search area to a 200 mile radius. It paid off... Finally.

Use www.searchtempest.com as it searches all Craigslist posting within the distance from you that you select. Saves allot of head scratching.

Can't tell you how happy I am to be able to finally post here. After a long search, I was finally able to track down a color matched cap for what seemed like a really good price! Had to drive 3.5 hours to Buffalo NY to get it, but it was an enjoyable drive and a beautiful day! Kindle likes it too!!:deadhorse:

Out my way. We seem to always have long bed caps for sale around here. If I was a long bed I could have found two color matched ones, but short bed there's nothing.

Yeah I was about ready to pull the trigger on a non matched one and paint it and last minute found that one! I'll keep my eyes peeled for one.
Do either of these look like the right red to you?

    https://southjersey.craigslist.org/for/6080031885.html ... not sure if that's a 1st or 2nd gen

2nd one might be a long bed now that I look at it more closely, also judging by your thumbnail seems to be the wrong color.

Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Front set @ 0 with OME 883x coils. Alcon leaf springs. Viper Alarm. Wet Okole seat covers. WeatherTech Floor liners front and back. Oem Toyota chrome exhaust tip. ARE Shell. America Outlaw Wheels.
Ok I see how these work and how they would prevent the bed from cracking . My question is, am I going to need them if I use my truck as a daily drive and am running a shell ? Also how many of you have been running a shell with out them with no issues?

Alright, so I just got my new shell installed last week, and I've got a few questions for the group.

My rear hatch/window has the center-mount slam latch like this:EL2_00585_Kit.jpg
and my windoors have regular t-handles. They are not keyed the same: Should they be? Can they be?

And, does anyone have new links or access to all these documents?

Yes, the T handles are usually the least expensive to replace. Swing by an RV or cap retailer and they should be able to offer T handles that match the same key code for your window handles.

What does everyone think of Aluminum commercial caps? I'll be using my truck for overlanding and camping (mostly fishing and hunting trips) I have a DCLB and I was looking to combine it with a rack for a RTT or a boat with rod tubes. I've heard they're less expensive and can hold more weight, just don't look as good. Would be doing some camping inside it as well depending on weather and trip.
