Did one today down at Mt St Helens! Arranged by the PNW Expedition group on TW / FB. About 20 Toyotas in all, mostly Tacomas, a few 4Runners, a Tundra, and a Land Cruiser. Much fun. Here's some pics:

I had some terrible vibrations 2 weeks ago and pulled the shaft and took it to DLNW they called two days later said it was worn beyond repair they wouldn't even quote a new one and wouldn't build a one piece. They handed it back to me in 3 pieces so I was biking to work for three days while tom woods shipped me a one piece.

Stock shafts are cheap on car-part but I couldn't find any under 80k miles.

    A) no one takes initiative besides a select few to even put a run together. B) there is still about 12 feet of snow. C) a run with that many trucks is a guaranteed shit show

Yeah, a lot of the trails around here turn into parking lots with that many rigs. That's why we usually cap the number of rigs, or split into two groups. Our last Tahuya thing we did as two 10 rig groups, and met for lunch. That worked pretty good.

Unless you're just doing a road-to-destination drive, hitting any kind of trail with that many trucks, like Brian said, is a joke. Too many people of different skills spread out over too far of an area involves a ton of waiting, distraction and frustration. Rather than wheeling and enjoying the scenery, it becomes "where'd Billy go?", "why can't I be at the front?", "why are we still stopped?", and "I left my camera on a log 3 stops ago. Can everyone move out of the way so I can turn around and go get it?"

That run was a drive to meet and greet sort of deal. They drove up to Mt. St. Helens and had a bit of a BBQ. But it was also planned quite a bit in advanced. We tend to be more of a couple day notice type planers or we could make larger groups work. But right now i cant commit to anything as half the time i dont know if im working saturday till 30 minutes before I leave work friday

I gotchya. As I mentioned, just doing a destination meet-and-greet drive isn't a problem with large groups. Trail runs of this size were brought up and in my mind all I saw was darkness, anger, confusion and Sauron.

My work schedule is much the same way. Being a small business owner is so awesome. Everyday is Monday.

Are you trying to lower the rate or terminate your contract?

If they're the only provider in the area you're probably sol because they run a monopoly.

I always threaten to cancel after the year deal is up and they amazingly just saw a promotion that they can sign me up for another year. Pay $50/month. There is century link in my area as well though.

Does anyone run a fuse or any sort of shutoff in the power to their winch?

Just wanted to introduce myself I'm Mike. Just got stationed in Seattle and just arrived here today. I'm in the Coast Guard and my wife and I are looking for houses to rent in the Seattle area. Any advice on places to live in and around Seattle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Are floor mats a mod?
Every 3 months Kris calls and asks why our rate went up and threatens to go to dish network and they put it back to the old rate. So fucked up that we have to do it every quarter, but, that's the game they play.
