    NEX 5201,
    Hi,

I just had a handle camera installed. I am not happy with it. I am not sure of the brand bc the shop I used got it.

    1. The angle it is at points down, the shop states they cannot adjust it any further.
    2. The video quality is not that great. At night the white balance goes up so much I am unable to see at all just an all white picture.

I used the shop bc it has great reviews, I am unhappy with the shop but I have already purchased the product and services. Does anyone have any suggestions on brand or camera type? I may just have to go with back up camera that attaches to the license plate.

    HU: Pioneer 5201NEX

    thanks all,

    rolo

I tapped into the factory camera and it looks just fine to me. Still got the picture in the mirror and also on the Pioneer HU I just put in

FloodedKiwi: I am installing a Pioneer AVH-x2800BS in my 2012 AC cab next weekend...replacing the OEM AM/FM/CD/XM head unit. I also have OEM backup video into my rearview mirror. I haven't yet pulled the old unit to see the connections. How to I split (or tap into) that video signal to also get it into my new Pioneer (similar to what you have)?

    I used this Thread:
    OEM Camera Connection below Dash
    and this one:
    2012 Reverse Camera Switch
to do mine with the same HU you've got. The 2012 Reverse camera was really helpful and the worst connection for me was the park brake connection up under the dash. That bit suxed bad..
I had color in the HU when I first installed and now it is just B&W, which I haven't worked out why as yet.
I also used the Metra Bezel replacement which was way better IMO than the scohoe one.

    Thanks
Well... I got the HU installed. All BT, mic, Steering Wheel controls work.
My Metra Bezel needs some mods. My Pioneer AVH-x2800BS is about 1/8" wider than the Metra panel opening. Therefore, all of the clips don' engage. It looks OK... But if I hit a big bump, the panel moves... and maybe falls.

I got the shielded video cable for the Backup Camera patched into the +/- behind the coin tray (L of steering column).
But, I couldn't find the power circuit for Reverse.
I do not see a white four wire connector [IO2, on nut's wiring diagram in "2012 Reverse Camera Switch" thread] in the fuse box area behind the coin tray. And, I couldn't isolate a Power on Reverse wire in the mess that IS there.

Do you remember if this IO2 connection, with the Power on Reverse wire, is located somewhere else on the 2012 AC w/o JBL???
e.g. Driver's side Kick Panel? or... Behind the Glove Box?

My camera still broadcasts to the Rear View mirror.
Quitting for now. Running out of daylight.

My Metra bezel fits ok with the metra brackets, not so much when I used the scohsce metal brackets.
Not sure I know why you couldn't find the wires on the left side. I'll see if I can take some pics during the week that may help.
Weird thing on mine is that the backup camera in the HU is now in black and white, yet still in color in the mirror.
