Speaking of HeadStrong Off-Road, I just got an alignment on my new lift! 5100's all around, OME 885s, LR UCAs and Denver AAL in back. With my 265/75/16 KO2s I'm sitting about 3" higher! Everything looks awesome! Next up is a bumper...

I even convinced another tacoma to park next to me so I could compare! His is a 2015/16 with stock suspension. That white does look good though.

Over the past few weeks, me steering wheel has been acting up. Stiffening up and then getting looser seemingly randomly. I was worried that one of the following problems needed to be addressed:

    1. power steering pump was failing and needed to be replaced.
    2. I desperately needed an alignment
    3. Steering column issue/ replacement needed.

I consulted my mechanic, who is a long-time family friend, and expressed my concerns. He said that he didn't even need to see my truck, and diagnosed the problem as frozen/stuck steering column u-joints. He had me pick up a bottle of penetrating oil (WD40 will work as well) and soak the visible u-joint under the truck while simultaneously having someone else move the wheel from side to side for a couple of minutes. So, I followed his instructions and to my relief the steering returned to normal. After driving it around and running some errands, it seems to be fixed.

Nice idea. I'll look into a locking fuel door too. Where can you find one?

Got a few things done Saturday for a Sunday trail ride.
Mounted the fire extinguisher. Turned out pretty good.

Mounted a shovel. Turned out Ok at best.

Mounted some cheap traction mats. Turned out not good at all but it worked for the weekend.

They are about the cheapest ones you can buy. I don't expect them to be anywhere near is good as maxxtrax. But for me and only occasionally using them I think they'll be fine. If I was doing in really remote exploring by myself I wouldn't rely on them.

Installed the @Mobtown Offroad front receiver with recovery points. Wish it didnt stick out so much but I didnt want a full bumper and permanently mounted winch.

But this should get me or my buddies out of trouble when needed.
