Well, what's the width of the wheel?
You didn't post what year you have either.
And do you want it wide as it can possibly go for the sake of wide tires, or do you want it to be as safe as possible?
    Lacking alot of info here.

So you've got an 05+ taco then?
Just look through the thread here, I'm sure someone has done it.

Your wheels are 6" wide. Each tire brand will show a minimum/optimum/maximum width wheel for a given tire size.

A 235/75/15 will fit the stock wheel. It will also fit in a non lifted truck and not rub in any way.

'Filling the wheelwells' isn't a view of the width, it's a view of the diameter. Width only matters in that view as a function of the aspect ratio, which will tell you the overall diameter.

Get the tire too tall (more than the 235/75) and the truck starts to become a pig, because you are impacting the final gear ratio.

A 235/75 will give a 1" lift (ground clearance wise) on a stock wheel, because it's a 2" diameter larger tire than stock.

If you insist on proceeding with a lift, you'll want bigger wheels to utilize bigger tires. And depending on offset of the wheel and the final width of the tire, you may need wheel spacers to give turning clearance. And you may want to save up a grand or two for a regear. And keep your fingers crossed that your final result can be correctly aligned.

It's a slippery slope. Proceed cautiously, with one hand firmly on your wallet. You could easily wind up with a truck that is very difficult to market when time comes to sell.

    Good luck!

IMG_0859.jpg It's a 2007 Tacoma access cab. Well I understand they view of width isn't what feels out the wheel well. I guess I'm just not. Wing very clear on what I'm saying. This guy right here has stock wheels with a 235/75/15 and it looks pretty good without sacrificing drive ability. I just want to know what the widest tire that would fit on the stock 2007 tacoma wheels

Most tire manufacturers will list what the minimum and max widths are as well.
But it looks like alot of us are running 235/75 with no problems.

    Line one of post 5.

OP, to find that info, you won't normally see it on tire sales sites. You'll want to go to the tire manuf. site, look up the model/size of interest, and find the detailed specs.

Also note that tire sizes are a generalized standard. IE not all 235s (or any other size) are promised to be exactly the same dimensions across product lines. Close, but not exact. That's one reason why the research per particular tire make/model is worth the effort.

Go with 235s! unless you wanna spend the big bucks to get 31s. Also regearing may be a must if you go over 31s. Even with 31s I was considering a regear, but I have the automatic so its about the max you want to go with them, and maybe a little more then you should. I recommend 235s that will be my next tire. I do enjoy the 31s off road, but on the road its 90% driving, and I wish I had the 235s up hills.
