Hey everyone! I'm new to the forms and not very good at navigating them, or finding what I'm looking for so sorry if what I'm about to ask has already been covered.

I'm currently in the market for a 2013-2015 Tacoma TRD sport or off road. I'd like to lift the truck and after doing some research found that the Bilstein 5100's are the best way to go on a budget. My plan is to do the 5100's up front and in the rear set to the max 2.5" setting using my stock springs (I know some people say it rides really rough with the stock springs and others say it's perfect so I'm going to take the gamble). And in the back I'll be going with a 1.5" AAL to level the whole thing out.

My question though is what else do I need to get in order to have a safe/smooth ride and avoid the vibrations you get from lifting the truck. Shims, Diff drop, Carrier bearing drop? Do I also need UCA's? Any of those things actually needed?

Thanks for any help and again sorry if this has already been covered!

All depends what tire you go with. If your staying stock, UCA's are not a necessity. If youre going with the popular 285/75 16's then you'll either need to purchase UCA's or you could also do 1" wheel spacers. Quality spacers though, not the crappy parts store spacers lol. (BORA, Spider Trax etc.) I have the 1" BORA spacers and no rubbing on the UCA's at all even when off roading and full lock.

most likely ECGS front diff bushing, lifting usually exposes the failing needle bearing.

Sweet thanks for the info. I want to have a 2.5" lift to try and avoid having to replace my UCA's so how much of a lift does the 887's give you? I'd be running 265/75/R16's

I'm running stock uca's currently w/ 265/75/16. No issues at all so far with the typical highway driving, and some mild dirt roads.

if your looking for 2.5 inches or just under 3 inches look at the bilstein 5100/ome 885 combo. I just wanted to have a true 3 inches which is why i opted for the taller 887 springs up front.

I really want 3" but I didn't want to do the UCA's so if you're running the same size tires with no problems I might just have to go this route. What did you do for the back end then? I'd like a level look all around. And do you have any problems with vibrations? Did You use a diff drop kit or carrier bearing drop kit?
