I'm pretty sure I'm between the two lines. I ran it, parked, waited 10 min and checked about 5 times to where I think I could consistently say, yes that's the level. This stick is inserted into this liquid this much. Seems like the excess on the tube was throwin me off. And because it's so damn clear and thin! Very hard to see. Not like checking any other oil on any other vehicle I've owned. Thanks guys for all the replies. I do appreciate it.

Off topic, I keep meaning to post up some pics of my truck, as I ordered some FN Pro wheels and nitto terra grappler G2's. Maybe later this week.

I cannot believe the hand wringing in this thread. The OP filled the crankcase with 6 quarts of oil. How much could it possible be "overfilled?" And folks are worried about the crankshaft aerating 6 quarts of oil. Really? I'm as anal as the next guy, but this is ridiculous. Just drive the thing!

Yes they have a wet sump system, but most people refer to it as the oil pan, oil pick up

This thread is gold. OP you should just :smash:. Take the truck to a professional for the next oil change.

I did the same, took out the dip stick, waited 10 minutes while I gave my interior a little clean up, insert it again and good a good level reading, it's right on the mark with +|- 6.8 qtsimage.jpg

Well, when you put in 6 quarts and your indication is that telling you it is high, what do you do? You determine what went wrong.

Dude, are you like this with every aspect of your life?! Stop over thinking it .

Why not just add oil, then remove add then remove. Do that 14 times and you will be at the right level.

You should have just left it alone like most of us said but now you are just wasting your time mind f'n yourself over something so trivial.

Exactly. The dudes saying he should remove some oil "just in case" are just causing more issues for this guy. Unreal.
