Flawless. Engine runs strong. Plug and play.

 

Traction bar installed. Not impressed with some of the details. Front mount bolts were the wrong size, grade 8 hardware mixed with grade 5, had to cut the front muffler mount off for clearance, and the U-channel for the diff mount was welded from a 90 and a flat piece, and not straight, either.

On the plus side, it seems to be quite effective. Takeoff shudder is essentially fixed, enough that I would feel ok with a full throttle launch without twisting the axle horribly. On heavy acceleration there is some NVH transmitted, but under cruise it's silent.

 

Level 10 valve body kit installed.

Results: At full throttle it will chirp the tires slightly going into 2nd gear. Otherwise under normal driving you can't tell I did anything different. The shifts are smooth but take about half as long under moderate to heavy acceleration. I was kind of expecting it to be even firmer, but I think it'll be fine.

Took 7 quarts to refill the transmission.

 

I'm thinking about doing this ^^. My wife's '16 Sienna shifts faster than my '08 Taco and it bugs the heck out of me. Is all of the slip gone between shifts?

Much less slippage. 1/2 to 1/3 the shift time of stock. Just a gentle nudge to tell you it shifted.

Out with the old, in with the new. URD Mark 3 cat-back exhaust.

 

How do you like your URD Mark 3 Exhaust? Is it much louder than your stock exhaust? Any noticeable difference in power? Iv'e been eyeballing that setup.

 

Idle and cruising around town it's near silent. But once you're on the gas, it will get your attention.

 

Are you still liking your exhaust? Not too loud in the cab?

It's broken in a bit, getting a little more mellow. Only issue is that it resonates around 2700-3000rpm, such as in a 4th gear hill climb around 60 and I need to downshift to fourth. Otherwise I like it. Actually makes a V6 sound good.

100k! Celebration burnout was a necessity.

 

Long time with no updates. Just been running the truck and maintaining it, and now it has 150k on it. The last couple years though, the hood and roof clear coat was toast, and the paint was damaged.

So, over December, the truck received a full re-paint in the factory color and a new windshield. She looks like a brand new truck.

With the miles it now needs the valve clearances checked, and then it should be good for the next 150k.
