So what are the ways I go about checking the tre and CV? I know I'll have to pull the CV off. But is there a way to check it without removing the CV boot?

For the cv inspect the boot for tears, if none, wiggle it side to side and front to back (should move no more than like an 1/8" if its good) then turn full lock and drive in a circle each way, if no noise youre good. If you get popping/clicking turning one way or the other then id suspect a bad cv.

Remove castle nut off the tie rod and take it off the hub, and For the inner tie rod the way ive noticed when its worn out is it moves freely, there should be a level of stiffness that holds it in place, same as outer rie rod.

So my thread in the Suspension section got some hits last night. A few people seem to think it may be the "Lower Shock Bearing" your opinions on this matter? @TacoFMS @Bsheriff11

Anything is possible but you havent had that suspension long enough for those to be worn unless shipped bad. Spacers oriented correctly? ( larger to front)

Yes they are. I thought the same thing in reference to them being fairly new with only a few off road adventures on them. Still a mystery at this point. Back to the drawing board

I'm with Brandon on this. It could be possible, but I wouldn't think it would be the likely source. Then again I haven't personally witnessed it. So I'm just shooting from the hip.

@J_Hacker have you tried removing the sway bar and trying to reproduce the sound? I would do that. The only other things i can think of is lower ball joint or steering rack

That was the first thing I was gonna try once I get a day off. If worst comes to worst, I'll pull the CV axle, plug up the diff and take a drive. Hopefully it won't have to get to that extreme though.

Glad to see everyone is mostly active here! Back from the dead to plug my club's car show here at JMU. The 4x4 section is always under-represented (~10 out of 152 cars entered last year), so I figured I'd let you guys know! This is a car show that my club, Madison Motosports hosts every year on campus. It's just the 4 of us officers and a few members in our club organizing it, so it's pretty laid back, but we always have a huge turnout! Entry is only $5 the morning of and the prizes for each class were all worth at least $100 each last year. Prizes aren't finalized yet this year, but they should be good.

We will have free food and music provided by Steven Toyota (local Toyota dealership that's one of the best in Virginia and the GM, Ryan, wheels with us!) Games and lots of prizes! Registration opens at 9:30 and closes at 12PM with awards given out at 1PM. The show is here on Campus at James Madison University in the C4 parking lot.

    Location : https://www.google.com/maps/place/C...1e8ca011dadcfa!8m2!3d38.4380168!4d-78.8660424

Come out and support Madison Motorsports and show off your trucks! Did I mention I was the president of this club?
