    Hey guys,
I got a suspension inspection this morning and the guy was hard to read.. not sure if he was truthful or trying to play me.. I'll admit I am not the smartest with suspension yet.. He was saying that my driver side rear Fox shock needed to be replaced/rebuilt. Not really sure why.. He couldn't really explain either. I don't think they are that old so it doesn't make sense that they would need to be replaced.

Anyone have any knowledge around this? How often these should be replaced, if at all? How do I know if they need to be replaced?

PS.. Excuse the dirty undercarriage.. Need to pressure wash this bad boy..

    Thanks,
    Tyler

Looks fine from the pic. I think that is rebuildable as well so it shouldnt be replaced completely

First off what is a suspension inspection and why did you take it in for one?

Why do you even need that in the first place?

    This right here!!

How many miles do you have the shocks? Do you see any oil leaking?

I've got a lot of LOUD squeaking up front and I want to upgrade suspension anyways. The right side UCA ball joint is shot too. That's where the squeaking is coming from, so I'm told. Only thing that makes sense so far.

For the rear, no oil leaking. Doesn't feel super soft either

yea, go to another place lol
or go to your hobby shop and work on the truck :D
to test it, check for leaks, then bounce the car on that corner, if it keeps bouncing then the shock is bad, if it settles quick then its fine.

Take the shock off, inspect it for leaks and what not.
