Vandalized

my 2017 double got vandalized !all they took was the TRD Pro grill but ripped all the grill surround in the process.
Can anybody recommend a decent alarm system?

This is soooo common in the GM truck scene that I'm used to hearing about it. Sucks that it's a Tacoma problem too.

 

I went with a viper system and went ahead and had the remote start added.

 

This sucks to hear. Any pics of the damage?

I always assumed someone tampering with a car like that would set off the stock alarm... I guess I was very wrong.

 

Damn. Sorry to hear that. When I realized how easy it was to pop a grill off on these, I wondered how long it was going to be before someone stole one. I'm suprised that they didn't just crowbar the hood open and unscrew 2 screws and undo 2 clips.

 

Glue some razorblades around the inside of that grill...maybe get lucky and dirtbag will reach their hands in to yank it out. SLICE!

Of course then you'll probably get sued since you're in CA.

when i lived in hawaii there was a short period of time when someone was gouging holes in lifted trucks gas tanks and draining them dry.

gas was expensive... broke fucks without a job love doing that degenerative shit

edit: someone broke into my truck the first few weeks I had it.. almost forgot about this. Stole my temporary reg but didnt touch the cash sitting in the center console. i know im an idiot for leaving out cash, but in that situation whos really the idiot?

I bought a 2016 Limited in March of 2016, the SECOND night of it parked in my driveway, it got broken into. Driver window busted out, no alarm went off. The guys got the radio almost completely out but must've been spooked by my dogs and they ran off leaving the radio hanging out. A month in the shop and about $15k worth of insurance pay out, I got it back with a brand new radio, new dash, new window ect. Then I traded that in last month for a 2017 TRD Offroad and got a Viper alarm put on the same day. No problems so far...

 

So now I need to replace the stock grill surround , TRD Pro insert and headlights because the tabs where the surround mounts to are broken , total estimate from dealer for parts alone is around $3900 plus the $930 labor to install , just to steal a $500.
They had to do it in a hurry so I'm sure they broke a few tabs on the insert .
I guess a Glock is in my future
