hey guys, looking for a dispersed camping spot not too far out of the city in the north east area of carefree or somewhere off the 87.

Nothing fancy just something I can easily get to that's reasonably secluded and free. I'd just like to get a way one night soon.

Bartlet is an easy choice, but it won't be secluded. I usually go up further North and camp by Stonemann Lake.

Bartlett was a disaster for the past few weekends. I think Spring Break messed it all up with yahoos, plus the water level is so high that all of the good shoreline is underwater right now. Every spot a vehicle can access the water is a real commodity.

I went out to Horseshoe and found some camping though, even with the crowds. I think with Spring Break finally done, you'll have much better luck.

If you want to get more remote around these 2 lakes, you'll need to do some more rugged wheeling.

For something off of the 87, you could always go a little north of Fountain Hills and hit up Sycamore, Four Peaks area, or behind Saguaro Lake at the old "Butcher Jones" disaster. Lots of douchebags, garbage and diapers in that dump, unfortunately. Trash is pretty common in all of the easily accessible areas in just about any state, sadly.

If your rig is capable and you don't mind nasty pinstriping, you can always go up Log Corral trail to the backside of Bartlett Lake. You'll have guaranteed camping privacy back there, for sure.

It is, and also plenty of places to camp and explore along Bloody Basin Road. Accessible from Carefree or from the I-17.

I think I'm going to check out the 7 springs area. Apparently there's some dispersed camping in the area.

    Hope it's somewhat secluded :/

Seven Springs proper will be crowded most likely. @05TacoRunner Fam and I went up that way a few weeks ago. There are a couple off-shoots north of it and some little alcoves along the way that have potential.
