I've got a 2004 Regular Cab 4X4 with OME 880's up front and Deaver J59's in the back and Nitrochargers all the way around. It's probably got about a 1.5" lift max. Will a 235/85R16 or a 265/75R16 fit with no clearance issues?. I am leaning towards the tall skinnies though. Changing lanes or hitting a snow drift that was unexpected on the interstate isn't too much fun with wider tires. Then there is the fact that skinnies are better in just about everything except deep sand and mud which I don't venture into. I've pretty much decided on Cooper ATW's because of the serious ice and snow we get here in Wyoming. This last winter was brutal. I came home one day and there was 3' where I normally park. Kudo's to Michelin MS/2's since they actually did get me around in over a foot of snow in 4WD but it was no fun. MS/2's are an amazing tire. Very amazing but I need a little more "bite" for where I live now. I've avoided all off roading in the winter because the MS/2's just don't cut it in mud and snow when it gets deeper.

I also do fairly mild off roading but do tend to get into areas where it becomes more than "mild" like rock beds filled with sharp rocks and rock ledges with steep climbs. Deep sand and real deep mud I don't even venture into so I don't have to worry about that. Unless I screw up. It's mostly rocks, dirt, hard pack and snow along with lots of ice around here during the winter. Real deep snow this last winter. We had over a foot where i live this last winter. Just getting to the store was a chore.

These Michelin MS/2's have been quite phenomenal considering what they are actually designed for considering they have been through many a sharp rock bed and up and down many rock ledges along with mud and 12+ inches of snow along with lots of ice but I need to change to something more suitable for where I live now.

The P265/70R16 MS/2's weigh 40 lbs. The Cooper ATW in the sizes I'm looking at weigh the same or just 3 lbs more. The 245/75R16's weigh 36lbs in SL load rating. Rotational weight is something I'm paying attention to. I've got the 2.7. It's already gutless. These are SL rated tires in the ATW except for the 235/85R16 which is E rated and still only weighs 43 lbs which is only 3lbs more than the MS/2's I've got.

Last but not least is the wheel weight. I'd like to get some lighter wheels but it seems that if I go with the 235's I should probably have a 7" rim or can a 235 be run reliably on an 8" wheel? Most of my driving is highway and there are high speeds where I live along with the curves in the road, of course. I need to be able to drive at normal highway speeds (65-75 mph) and not have to worry too much about making a sudden lane shift or going around a sharp curve. I have yet to find a high quality aluminum rim in a 7" width from companies like SCS, Method etc., etc. Does any high quality manufacturer out there make a light, strong, high quality 7" rim in aluminum in case I like the skinnies and decide to stay with them permanently?

Airing down and swapping wheels and tires as the seasons change isn't something I want to deal with. This is a DD.
