We are literally in the same boat. Sticky clay abounds where I live. A tire that cleans out well is a must.

ive got 4 seasons on my procomp extreme at's and theres still two more in em. No chunking out or missing pieces. I've ran these down some serious gravel roads with huge sharp rocks. up here in the rockies and into bc. great traction in the slick mud and even ran em all winter as well. will probably get another set but in a 285 75 16

Since I don't need he heavier tire and sidewall I'm really looking for a C rated tire. Do they make these in C? They look nice and I know Pro Comp makes good tires but I'm trying to stay around a C rated tire.

you would have to chat with your local tire shop or offroad parts dealer to confirm

I like the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s on my truck, but I have no idea of the load range. They are pretty quiet on road.

Jasper (not too proud of that) but played baseball and football all around B'ham. I'm in Montgomery now via many stops along the way...

Kumho AT51, FJ steel wheels, 5100s, OME 885, Icon 3 AAL.
Switch to 17" wheels and go with a 255/75R17. Good selection of C load tires in that size, and they should fit with no lift. 32" tall and a 1/2" skinnier than a 265. Majority are lighter as well.
Cooper STT Pro and ST Maxx, K02s, Kumho AT51, Nitto Trail Grappler, Grabber X3, and definitely lots of mud tires.

I may need to check it out. Jasper used to be a really nice place back in the day but it has gotten rough there now. I haven't lived there since I joined the Navy in 1990. Geez, I'm getting old. It seems like yesterday yet that was a long time ago...

I have also explored this option. I told myself I wasn't going to mod this truck but I figure it's my truck and I plan of keeping it for a long time so I might as well do what I want to with it. :)

Great tire, but I've only had the chance to put about 300 miles on them so far... they are an aggressive tire, quiet, fairly inexpensive, and have great reviews! IMG_2319.jpg

I think I'm staying with my stock rims at 16". I actually like the stock OR rims so I'm looking at the 265/75/16 but, crap, I'm no further along now than I was when I started this thread. I wonder what I could get out of my stock GY tires? They have almost 2K on them now.

I tried to find the General Grabber AT2 in either a C or even P (SL) tire but didn't see them. I do agree with an earlier post that changing sizes would help but I'm trying to stay with my current wheels and just fit the largest tire I can without lifting.

    I've got the duratracs in a 265 70 17.
    pretty good so far.

They kind of suck in the rain though. I've been surprised how much my traction control has been kicking in in the rain. I had my winters on up until tuesday, and with all the april rain I never saw it kick in. Now it's been a bit.

and they are a tad bit noisy. not a loud annoying noise. But you can definitely tell you're on a different type of tire.

i went with a 17 for pretty much this reason.
I'm running a 265 70 17 right now but next set will likely be one of those.

    or a D rated 285 duratrac.
