Don't forget the actual MAF coil is hidden down in the housing.
    That is just the blade.

I didn't notice of there was a link to cleaning inst. previously or not.

I don't think you need sensors (if the system reads 'ready' for any time before throwing a code, they should be working) but as I stated, this code is as individual as they come.

FWIW: I bet the car lot fought this a while before cutting their losses on a 'name a price' vehicle. Fries were left by their best mechanic.

Keep old toothbrushes for 30K from now and wrong plugs, those are single electrode. Won't throw code anyway.

Got 37.7 miles home before CEL came on. O2 sensors next. ;)

*edit* AFTER confirming there are ZERO exhaust leaks.

It is my understanding that in many if not states used car dealers have to offer a warranty for the first 30 days. Didn't you just buy this truck?

Check what the laws are in the State that you bought vehicle from. The dealer might be required by law to cover all the expenses related to the problem. They sold you a vehicle that obviously has problems.

The dealer is in touch with me and working with me. It's a 100,000 miles vehicle that's over 14 years old that I bought out of state. No warranty but he's offered at this point to mail me a new (aftermarket) front converter if I have it installed locally myself.

He stated it was a small lot and it's an old vehicle. I imagine if it leaves the lot and you paid, it's yours.

Ever watch that old Kurt Russell movie "Used Cars", where the guy is pushing an old 'Vette back from off the st. and Kurt is pushing it back out?
