Ok, so I'm trying to start my build and I'm trying to figure out what is going to be my best option. Ive been looking at the bilstein 5100 adjustable struts and I really like them but I'm wondering if I would be accomplishing the same look with a regular leveling kit. I've never owned a 4x4 vehicle so I'm completely new to all this. Not trying to do anything crazy, just want a few extra inches of clearance so I can hit the trails and not be broke! Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you don't care about ride quality used the spacers. If you would like to maintain a stockish ride then go with the 5100s.

I haven't lifted mine yet, but have road in both types of lifts. The 5100s were by far the better choice. Headstrong offroad would be my vendor of choice.

I've had 5100s on the last 2 trucks I've owned. They'll be on the new one in due time. MIGHT go with the 6112s, but don't know if I can justify the extra sheckles......

Why do you need to be level to "hit the trails"

Why not hit the trails as is, learn where shortcomings might be for how you use the truck, then address those with the right hardware?

The trucks are quite capable stock.
