Another cracked windshield. Appeared out of the blue, had some ice on it this morning. Found the crack later this afternoon, approx 20 inches.
Is this really not under basic warranty.

Hard to argue defective glass when so many things naturally can crack it. Even thermal cracks are not considered defects which I'd say is what you have. Cold glass in the morning and then parking it in the sunlight or partially in the sun can cause expansion and stress. And warmer states don't have any better, washing your truck and hitting the glass with cold water will crack it sometimes too. My dealer has us sign a waver for it if they wash your car after a service saying they are not at fault.

Insurance will cover this. If it does not iterfere with your vision, then just keep the windshield as it is until you HAVE to replace it. Who knows you might get another ding on the windshield and if it cracks an already cracked windshield, no big deal.
