So I have a 2016 SR 2WD with about 14k miles on it. For some reason my truck has taken on a terrible squeak when I sit in/get out of my truck, start from a stop, when I'm turning at a relatively fast speed, and just coming to a stop.

I've had dirt and mud underneath there and all but I sprayed it down hopefully once the mud is off it'll stop squeaking.

It stopped squeaking when the mud was off, but now that it's dry it's squeaking again.

I sprayed the end of my leaf springs on both the left and right side but it still continues to squeak. Does anyone know how to fix this or should I just go to the dealer?

If you stand on the rear bumper and bounce, will it squeak then too? Some guys found it to be the suspension bracket, others the leaf spring themselves. If you can pinpoint it, it would help when you take it in.

Several ways to attack if it is in fact your leafs. 1. Dealer can clean them out. There's a Toyota tech tip for the service dept to apply. It will squeak again once you offroad.

    2. The process in that thread he posted above...the post by GPSevinSixx

    Bottom line these leafs suck.

Mine were worse be for the AAL when I lifted it. Now they come and go with various water, dust, mud they're subjected to. Weirdly, I've heard them less the more I've taken this thing off road.

Yeah when I do that it sounds just as bad. So that means it's not the springs but it's just the bracket?

I got the same thing. Happened after going off road. Sprayed it down and it went away. Picked up 300 pounds of skids and sliders, it came back 10 fold.
But I have dakars w/anti-squeak pads coming.

    Good luck.

    all tore up already
Mine squeak all the time after offroading until i grab a pry bar and pressure washer and really clean them. Did this exactly one time before i said f it. Oddly offroading this past week has them quieter than they have been in month. Mustve been some clean spring water

Dakars get some of the most complaints for noise from what I've seen.

I've heard that, but they have anti-squeak pads. I'm getting them at a good enough price that if I want to change them out later it's not a big loss.

    Thanks for the info though.
    Really appreciate the heads up.

Look into Energy Suspension Grease. You'll find some posts about it from GPSevinSixx in the forums if you search. Good luck!

It's very well possible. The bushing may have prematurely worn.

Also, I used this penetrating oil when mine started squeaking a few months ago... it was fine until I tailored a boat several times in a week. I figured the lake water washed out the lubrication.

So I walked back out and jumped on my back bumper again and there was a faint squeak that sounded like it came from the left rear leaf springs. Washed it and pressure washed underneath. Then is didn't come back thank god. so hopefully it'll stay away now
